Shared Writing

We have been doing Shared Writing in Room 5.  This is where we write a story together about an experience we have all had.  This writing is on display in our room.

The first story we wrote was about a dead rat.  Dugan our caretaker found a dead rat in the flax bush by the office.  He came and showed the children the rat.  They were fascinated with the rat asking all different sorts of questions about why it died, and looking at its teeth and feet.

We then wrote about swimming, as all the children had loved swimming time.

Dead Rat!

Dugan showed us a dead rat.

The rat was wet.

The rat had little ears and little feet

and claws.

The rat had a long tail.

It was a boy rat.

Swimming

We went to the swimming pool.

The water was warm.

We learnt to swim.

It was good fun!
