Turangawaewae - ourselves, our whanau, our school

Welcome to all the children in Room 5. It has been so lovely meeting you and your families, and starting on our learning journey together.

We have done so much together in our first 3 weeks!

We have begun our learning about Turangawaewae - Our place, ourselves, and our families.

Here we are exploring the Redwood Tree, from which our school whakatautki comes from, Stand Tall, Reach High - Tu Tangata, Tu Maia!

Part of being a school is being able to get along together and work and play together peacefully and productively in the classroom.
In these first early weeks we have developed a treaty, or agreement of how we shall work and play in Room 5.
To show that everyone agrees to this we each used our handprint as a 'signature' to this agreement. This agreement is in your child's Home Book. Please take time to discuss it with them.
