The Enormous Watermelon!

As part of Harvest Week we have been reading 2 lovely stories about watermelon - The Enormous Watermelon, and Kimi and the Watermelon.
Our poem this week was also about watermelon:

Water Melon

Full of water

Full of sweet

Juicy, messy

Treat to eat.

Dessert of summer

Picnic jewel

Ruby red and

Oh so cool!

On Friday we went on a watermelon hunt to the Kitchen Garden.  Who could find the enormous watermelon growing there?

We found it!  It was round and green and smooth, just like the watermelon Kimi grew in the story Kimi and the Watermelon.  We carefully carried it back to the classroom where we cut it up and ate it.  It was soooo delicious!!

We then published our watermelon poem in our home books.  Did you see the drawings?
